SHOW THE WORLD

I Have This Dream

Some people say I live in a fantasy because I see the world differently.  Visions gorgeous fivecome to me in my sleep.  I close my eyes to see what God is showing me.  Close your eyes and imagine with me.  See the wonder of every living thing.  If we can live the way it is in my dreams, love will take us to a place where God can be seen.  This is my dream.  I have this dream…I believe the world a place for all humanity.  If we could take love to its highest level, more than the world has ever seen.

I have this dream

It’s really up to you and me

Our world together in harmony.

I see people turning into angels and God giving them their wings.

More than the world has ever seen,

If we believe that “freedom is choosing your burden” (Hephzibah Menuhin), and, “Discontent and disorder are signs of energy and hope, not of despair” (Dame Cicely Veronica Wedgwood), then, Michael’s inexhaustible CRY for love and humanity in the world demands in our character… ACTION.  “WHY SHOULD WE ALL USE OUR CREATIVE POWER?  BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING THAT MAKES PEOPLE SO GENEROUS, JOYFUL, LIVELY, BOLD AND COMPASSIONATE TO INDIFFERENCE… TO FIGHTING AND ACCUMULATION OF OBJECTS AND MONEY”  (Brenda Ueland). world music awards Within Michael’s character is an unlimited divine creativity which always, always, ALWAYS led to action.  Mary Daly speaks to this when she says that creative potential itself in human beings is the image of God.  Michael’s faith and trust in God and the potential of all living things to influence change, are a source of inspiration and hope, fueling a fire of passion around the globe.  With increased education, our vistas expand with a force of love in enthusiastic and diverse responses. WE TAKE CREATIVE ACTION!  “Just trust yourself, then you will know how to live.” (Goethe)  Defying restrictions, actions reveal colors and choices and flavors …all deemed worthy.  Unlimited imaginations mingle together as artists and wordsmiths and founders and lovers significantly change the world’s landscape.

THE DREAM CONTINUESif you only believe

“CRY revisits a sentiment Jackson had been delivering his entire solo career.  Its roots go back as far as the Old Testament as poet-prophets like Job and Jeremiah assessed a world of suffering, injustice, and despair and tried to find hope in the darkness.  They also tried to provoke awareness and action.  Similarly, Jackson ‘cries’ because he sees tragedy all around him and internalizes it.  He sings of people barely holding on, not knowing when the pain will end; he sings of ‘stories buried and untold,’ of people ‘hiding the truth’; he sings of illusions and masks (‘faces filled with madness’, ‘people laugh when they’re feeling sad’),  Then, in the chorus, he makes a plea (with listeners and himself) to somehow overcome.  What connects us isn’t pretending the tragedy doesn’t exist, but seeing it for what it is and confronting it as a collective.  As with previous anthems, it takes the help of the choir (symbolizing community) for him to find hope and resolve.  The majestic call and  response he engages in at the climax is classic Michael Jackson, demonstrating the purposeful communication  that must take place if we are ever to ‘change the world'”  MAN IN THE MUSIC   Joseph Vogel

AMBASSADOR

Ebony Jet Interview 1987

Question:  “Do you ever think about being an Ambassador, the fact that you’re accepted around this whole world?”ebony

Michael Jackson:  “I feel I’m that already with my music, what I’ve done with music cuz it breaks all barriers.  I don’t have to make a political statement.  I do all of that with music.  It breaks all language barriers and everything to all races of people.  It goes all over the world…and, it’s fun to see kids from India, or whatever country you name, who know about the music.”

“When I get onstage, I don’t know what happens.  It feels so good, it’s like it’s the safest place in the world for me…I was raised on stage.  Certain people were created for certain things, and I think our job is to entertain the world.  I don’t see any other thing that I could be doing.  I’ve seen the very rich and the very poor, but I’m mainly interested in the poor…I want to appreciate what I have, and try to help others.  When I go to other countries, I wish to see the ‘poorer’ parts.  I want to see what it’s really like to starve.  I don’t want to hear , or read it.  I want to see it.  It’s a whole different thing when you see it.  All the things I’ve read in my school books about England and the Queen were okay, but my eyes are the greatest book in the world.  When we did the Royal Command Performance and then after it, I actually looked into the Queen’s eyes, it was the greatest thing!  And, it’s the same with starvation, when you see it, you just receive a little more.”voiceless

The definition of ambassador describes someone who is a representative for others, often a country’s representative.  Yes, Michael Jackson was a citizen of the United States, and, therefore, one could leap to the conclusion that he was the representative of his country.  But, representing a single country is too limited in scope when defining Michael Jackson.  In the span of my lifetime, Michael Jackson has no equal.  As in so many areas, defining Michael requires a new standard.  Michael put a face to all cultures, all races of people.  Michael saw everything with his heart.  He gave his love rooftopexpecting nothing in return.  Seeing no color, no boundaries, no borders, no religions, he felt that all life was in him.  For those who struggled with the goodness of the man, their choice was to believe that he was too good to be true.  Frequently, hindsight is better than foresight.  Unfortunately, the nonbelievers find no wisdom in that, and children eightcontinue to hold on to media-myth brainwashing lies.  They are unable to comprehend that out of his humility came gratitude and his gift for giving.  “Love is the juice, the energy that motivates my music, my dancing, EVERYTHING.”  (Michael Jackson)  For some, the fear of Michael Jackson’s global power has created an “institution” for defaming…often called trolls, these people spend their days spewing vomit across the internet.  “If you tell a lie often enough, people will believe it.”  (Michael Jackson)  These groups subscribe to that theory, and, daily, hourly, spew venom.  The myth-making media choose a more “refined” strategy…it is called “THE TAKE-DOWN PIECE”.  In their “self-righteous” indignation, they often resort to pieces written years ago, never benefitting from court transcripts, children sevenFBI files and other FACTS.  I often remind myself that the group just described does not have numbers in the millions, but, far, FAR less.  Michael’s ambassadorship represents masses of people on every corner of the planet.  I take heart in that fact.heal the worldfour

While Michael unites us, very little can divide us.  A Fan wrote, “If people took notice of the beautiful things he did and still does, they would all see and understand why he is so appreciated for being on earth as long as he was allowed…and, why he is loved by the many who DO understand.”  We, Michael’s Army of Love, are united in our desire to PAY MICHAEL FORWARD by protecting his life and legacy…and, by making a difference in the world in his name.

“Throughout the past decade or so, Michael would come and stay at the house quite a bit, sometimes with his children, and sometimes alone.  It was an extraordinary time.  Michael was an amazing houseguest because he really didn’t require any attention.  He liked to clean his own room and make his own bed and he taught his kids to do that, much to our amazement.  Michael was filled with humility and sensitivity, reverence and the fansrespect for anyone and everyone.  And, most of all, the love he had for his kids equaled the love he had for his fans.  He just was a guy that was beyond amazing.  And, it’s sad that we hear all these frivolous stories that have been created about him.”  Al Malnik

Must Michael still endure this filthy barrage so that the rest of us see the bravery and are encouraged by it for our life struggles?  It seemed almost as if someone somewhere became intolerant with the ever-increasing power and influence which Michael enjoyed and planned for it to end in the most cruel manner imaginable.”  Adrian Grantdangerous emotion

“WHY WE CAN’T TAKE OUR EYES AND MINDS OFF HIM…BECAUSE HE ENTERED DEEPLY IN OUR SOULS…BECAUSE HE GAVE US EVERYTHING…BECAUSE HE EXPLOITED HIMSELF TO EXHAUSTION.  HE GAVE US NEW MAGIC SHOWS.  HE WAS NOT TURNED BACK WHEN WE OFFENDED AND DOUBTED HIM…BECAUSE HE ALWAYS TURNED MORE FASCINATING AND MORE AMAZING TO OUR DELIGHT…AND BECAUSE HE SIMPLY LOVED US WITH ALL HIS HEART.”  Leonard Muhammadeyes three

As an Ambassador of Love, Michael traveled the world more than eight times, healing hurts, crushing pain, bringing us together.  His ability to be knocked down and get back up again showed us strength, helping us believe we could do the same.  His messages were dictated from his soul, uniting the peoples of the world in a desire to make a difference.    When we reeled from the attacks of 9/11, he gave us his message:INVINCIBLE TWO

“Join hands and reach to the heavens…don’t do it because I’m asking you to do it…do it because it’s the right thing to do.  Now, I ask you for a moment of love and silence…and tonight we all stand united and ask ‘WHAT MORE CAN I GIVE’, and when we leave here tonight, let us take this love and give it to all the people everywhere in every corner of the earth.  To the families of the victims of September 11th that are here with us tonight, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.  You are in our hearts, and you are in our thoughts, and you are in our prayers.” rttthree

DANCING THE DREAM

This morning, my need was great to turn to the music that lives and lasts in my psyche.  I yearned to sing at the top of my voice and move with Michael’s rhythmic layers.  Someone said if you ask me what is my favorite Michael Jackson album I would say that it would be as if you asked what is the favorite breath I’ve taken.  That answer fits me. Each experience offers inspiration for the moment at hand.  This morning, I needed to be moved to another level and so I wept as I sang “I just don’t know the right thing to say…I try but all my pain gets in the way.”  My body then wildly danced to “Threatened” as I spit the words out into the air hoping to hit a nearby “journalist.”  My heart ached for “The Lost Children.”  And, then, there was “CRY.”  Michael makes a lot of classics.  “CRY” is one of them.  As with all of Michael’s anthems, our hearts are captured and our souls won.  With each phrase emotions build, our bodies join the dance and we are moved as one voice to join Michael’s worldwide movement of love.  All the world’s love is my messageproblems become a part of us when we are in Michael’s arms.  Instead of being a spectator, we yearn to make a little space to make a better place and try to heal our world.  Michael does that to us.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj3MfUR35CM

“CRY revisits a sentiment Michael Jackson had been delivering his entire solo career.  He cries because he sees tragedy all around him and internalizes it.  He sings of people barely holding on, not knowing when the pain will end; he sings of ‘stories buried and untold’ of people ‘hiding the truth’; he sings of illusions and masks (‘faces filled with madness’; people laugh when they’re feeling sad”).  Then, in the chorus, he makes a plea (with his listeners and with himself) to somehow overcome.  What connects us isn’t pretending the tragedy doesn’t exist, but seeing it for what it is and confronting is as a collective.  Released shortly after 9/11, CRY was exactlydanielle the kind of song that was needed in such a devastating moment.  The core of the song is much deeper, looking inward and outward at the same time, and offering no easy answers.  As a lamentation, it conveys the ‘sound of trauma.’  Listen to the desolate wind blow in the beginning and the slow, aching drumbeat.  It conveys an alienation that recalls the intro to STRANGER IN sim twoMOSCOW.  Jackson’s vocals are not celebratory, but melancholy and restrained.  As with previous anthems, it takes the help of the choir (symbolizing community) for him to find hope and resolve.  The majestic call and response he engages in at the climax is classic Michael Jackson, demonstrating the purposeful communication that must take place if we are ever to ‘change the world’.”

Sound Bites…

On days when the sun is gone.

Taking a snapshot of a person’s life..how accurate is that?  Is there any measure of fairness in it?  And, who decides the language for the sound bite, or even what the snapshot looks like?  Can a lifetime be summed up in a sentence? Can it encompass reality?  Have we become the kind of people who live our lives accepting a headline approach to history?loved Freedom of speech affords the rights for freedom of the press. For most of my adult life I have not only believed in the freedom which allows for print and media journalism, I have taught children…proudly offering them opportunities to practice journalistic skills.  All of that has changed for me.  Tabloid television, tabloid journalism, 24 hour-a-day headline news and sound bites have soured my taste for today’s version of journalism.  Character assassinations, partial truths, no truth, vilification all make me grow cold inside.  There is a kind of “Gotcha” mentality, a joy in power that can destroy reputations and lives and reach fingers deep inside entire families.  This is a kind of thinking that fills my heart with sadness, maybe because there is no heart in it.  Bullying, hatred, prejudice all come to mind.valentine for michael

Too hard to get over

Too low to get under

Stuck in the middle

And the pain is thunder

Michael Jacksonhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8DKD0PoRSI

And so, I begin today’s blog with what I would say is as close to a broken heart as I have ever had.  The cruelty and selective thinking where Michael Jackson is concerned has in the past been, and continues to be, unaffected by enlightenment, stubbornly holding on to tabloid vomit.  Hearing testimony from low-ceiling imaginations and those who treat the very person who is about to make billions of dollars for their company with such distain…referring to Michael as a FREAK, slapping him, shouting at him, throwing him into a cold shower, I ask myself… “WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?”  Watching television, seeing internet articles slanting every piece of information to make Michael the bad guy. Well, the week was miserable.  And then, I turned to Facebook love and found a place to land that eased my pain.  When I started this blog, I hoped for two things as I used what I had learned to PAY MICHAEL FORWARD:  I wanted to connect with kindred spirits whose hearts had discovered Michael’s love, humanity and unparalleled talent, and, I wanted to have a global connection.  Facebook michael lovehas made those connections for me.  As of today, I have been discovered by many countries around the world.  That is just amazing to me. I have found many who share my love and admiration for Michael. That eases my pain.  One of the things I must guard against is to lose sight of Michael.  When I am immersed in trials and false accusations, I tend to forget the man, what he stood for, how he lived his entire life.  I get my inspiration from his words, his music, how he recovered as stones were thrown at him.  I received a gift the other day that brought front and center the values Michael believed in, taught me, taught the world.  Paris Jackson was my gift.  Her words brought a smile through my tears.  I wanted to share them with you.alive

“Michael Jackson was the king of pop, rock and soul.  He was a genius, he was a warrior, he was a prisoner in this hell hole we call society, he was the bravest man I’ve ever known, he was an angel sent from Heaven.  Not only was he the greatest and most talented man but a philanthropist and a patriarch for the Jackson family, the glue that kept everyone together.  He loved and cared for children and cared so much to make the world a better place.  He was goofy, loving fanscrazy, hilarious, loving, kind, beautiful, lovable, incredible and the most loving father probably to ever exist.  He was the greatest thing that ever happened to the music business and my life.  I am so grateful and honored to have known him for over 10 years.  He was my life, the only thing that brought me true happiness.”  Paris JacksonDADDY LOVE YOU TOO

All who love and honor Michael have come together from all over the planet to help protect his reputation, his legacy, his truth.  Paris and her brothers are that legacy.  They represent Michael now.  We all do.  Michael sang out in Cry…that he couldn’t do it by himself.  He leads the way and we, now, all of us, gather to CRY.  We CRY for justice and truth.  We CRY for an end to prejudice and hatred, bigotry and racism.  We CRY for honor and dignity and accountability.  We CRY for a better world where children have food and medical attention and LOVE.  We CRY for the planet.  Michael has inspired us to come together for cause.  In an article titled “From Asia to Africa, the King of Pop Emerges As A Global reasonPlatform For Philanthropy and Social Change”, (mjjjusticeproject ) some of the amazing projects inspired by Michael were described.  They are happening all over this planet.  MajorLovePrayer inspires millions to come together in prayer to create light that will heal and give strength for truth.  A Million Trees For Michael is working for the planet.  OneRose4Michael is spreading love and togetherness.  The list is endless and I will take time to give it in detail another day.history two What I need to remember is that the tabloid vomit, the lies during trials, the false accusations for money, the twisted reality of the media, are very seductive.  That is their intent, to cause me to forget all the amazing love that is being shared all over the world.  When the media was crucifying Michael, he was singing, “Stand up for me, Brother, Stand up for me, Sister, STAND UP, STAND UP, STAND UP.” Together, we can make that change. And so, Dear Friends, thank you for taking the time to share my thoughts with me.  I know in my heart that standing up for Michael has many facets to it.  At this moment, I am holding onto to Michael’s words and the words of his beautiful daughter.  IT’S ALL FOR LOVE.tiitwo Jude MYstory YOURstory History OURstory
